Chicago's Kazy is on fire

"I want to move people emotionally," explains Rich Markese, singer and songwriter of Kazy, a project that many believe will be part of the next major breakthrough in the music industry. With its undeniably convicting emotions mixed with just the right amount of sex appeal, Kazy has the natural ability to entice listeners of various musical styles. Primarily driven by relationships, surroundings, and experiences, Rich Markese captures a unique style all on his own. Lyrically, Kazy is oftentimes inspired by personal experiences. "Everyday we are interacting and living these experiences that move us emotionally," explains Markese. "I see or feel something everyday that inspires me to share through writing. I am really excited about this record; I think there is a lot for people to connect with."

UNDENIABLE, besides upholding the title for the debut CD, has been the single word driving Markese for over two and a half years. It has set the standard for every individual aspect of this particular project. "I compared everything I have done with Kazy from lyrics, music, the website, artwork, and marketing tactics to that one single word, UNDENIABLE. If I felt something did not hold up to that standard, it was redone, reshaped, and rerecorded, which made this a lot of fun for my engineers," Markese laughs. "I have to give credit to the engineers who helped me track, mix and master this record. There was a lot of 'back to the drawing board' in order to reach the highest level we could."

The extensive time and effort put into Kazy definitely shines through in each song. The more familiar track, "Need You Tonight" (previously recorded by INXS), is the perfect example of creativity and perfection Markese tends to portray in each and every one of his songs. "I thought doing a darker, sexier version of that song needed to be done. The original was a huge hit, a very pop, great feeling song, but to me, the lyrics seemed to have a very emotional, darker edge to it. When Hutchinson sang 'I need you tonight' I felt like it was a very sexually desperate lyric. The style of Kazy seemed to be in the right place stylistically to pull this off." Markese continues to apply his mastery of depth and emotion to each song which ultimately captivates the listener. It is apparent that the quality of the songs is nothing short of a major label release.

With Kazy being independently produced, it proves to have been financially, technically and emotionally challenging for Markese. "The process of writing, recording, producing, and marketing all independently has been really tough. There are days when you really need to reach deep down for that energy to see it through. The last ten percent of any project seems to be the toughest; in this case it was finalizing the website." www.kazymusic.com is currently being recognized as an award winning website. "I wanted to have a website that was the coolest music site on the net. I worked with several hi profile designers to try and capture the visual appeal that worked for Kazy. The biggest challenge was integrating one idea of a designer to the others. The end result was something we are all very pleased with." In which they should be; www.kazymusic.com is sure to set a new standard for music sites on the internet.
